Levy Vinick Hyams & Burrell LLP

Oakland, CA, USA

Jean Hyams is a founding partner of Levy Vinick Burrell Hyams LLP in Oakland, California. She considers it a privilege to represent people with disabilities, older workers, women, gays and lesbians, whistleblowers, injured workers and people of color in a variety of employment lawsuits.  As trial lawyers, Jean and the other members of the firm have amassed an impressive collection of pro-worker jury verdicts and arbitration awards.

Jean serves as a member of the governing board of the California Employment Lawyers Association, the statewide organization of attorneys who represent employees in employment disputes. She is a frequent speaker on litigation, employment law and other topics at continuing legal education seminars throughout California, including those put on by the State Bar Labor and Employment Section, CELA, California Applicant Attorneys Association, Bar Association of San Francisco, and CEB. Jean has been named by Northern California Super Lawyers as one of the "Top 50 Women Lawyers in Northern California" for the past five years and her firm has been named one of the "Best Law Firms" (Tier 1 - Employment Law) by U.S. News and World Report.

Although her litigation practice is devoted to representation of employees, Jean also serves as a mediator in employment and disability access cases through the U.S. District Court's ADR Program, the San Francisco Superior Court ADR program, and privately.
