Jason P. Lee is a Senior Counsel in the Enforcement Division at the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Los Angeles office and a member of the Division’s nationwide Financial Reporting and Audit Task Force.  In 2014, the State Bar Board of Trustees appointed him Chair of the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation, the body statutorily responsible for investigating, evaluating, and rating all potential appointees to the state trial and appellate courts, including the state’s highest court. 
Mr. Lee has substantial experience in securities regulatory, compliance, arbitration, and litigation, including investment adviser, offering, and accounting frauds, FCPA violations, and insider trading.  He recently spent about a year on detail as Counsel to the Director of the Enforcement Division in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the SEC, Mr. Lee was the co-chair of Shartsis Friese LLP's securities group where he led efforts in defending federal and state criminal and civil investigations, litigating all manners of disputes in federal and state courts, and conducting internal investigations on behalf of public companies as well as their Audit Committees.  He is a graduate of Santa Clara Law School, where he received his J.D. in 1997, and Georgetown University Law Center, where he received an LL.M., with distinction, in 1999.
