Jasmine Ball is a corporate partner and member of the firm's Business Restructuring & Workouts Group. Ms. Ball regularly represents debtors, investors, creditors and other parties in distressed mergers & acquisitions, debt and equity financings and refinancings, complex restructurings and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

Ms. Ball is a member of the Bar of the State of New York and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ms. Ball is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and a member of its Committee on Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization. She is also a member of the firm's Diversity Committee and is active in various Asian legal associations, including Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund and Asian American Bar Association activities.

Ms. Ball joined the firm in 1999. She received her B.S. from Princeton University in 1996 in Civil Engineering and Operations Research, with a Certificate in Engineering and Management Systems, and her J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1999, where she was an Executive Editor of the Journal of International Law.

Ms. Ball's representations include:

  • Oaktree Capital, with TPG Capital and JH Investments, in their $955 million acquisition of the North American businesses of Taylor Wimpey plc.
  • Group of investors, including Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. and Avenue Capital Group in connection with the acquisition of the assets of the Sea Island Resort through its Chapter 11 case.
  • Large suppliers to distressed companies in various sectors.
  • Justice Gary Stein as the trustee and conservator of the Tropicana Atlantic City, in connection with the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings of Tropicana Entertainment LLC and the Chapter 11 sale of the Atlantic City casino.
  • Delta Air Lines, as special aircraft counsel, in connection with aircraft financing issues and other litigation claims in its Chapter 11 case in New York.
  • Leiner Health Products in its purchase of Pharmaceutical Formulations in a Chapter 11 sale.
  • Globo Comunicações e Participações, the largest Brazilian Media conglomerate and one of the world's leading media groups, in its $1.3 billion restructuring of international bond and international and Brazilian bank debt.
