Jane Wallison Stein is a partner in the New York office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP where she co-heads the firm’s project finance development team. She brings to her practice more than twenty-five years of finance experience, with concentration on project finance, and energy and resource recovery projects both domestically and internationally. Ms. Stein has represented developers, sponsors, investors, multilateral agencies, banks and underwriters in infrastructure development projects worldwide. Her prominent assignments have included: representing a global owner of energy projects in its acquisition of a portfolio of power project interests in several countries, and the restructuring of its ownership interests in projects worldwide, representing the project company in the development and financing of a US$1 billion hydroelectric multipurpose project in the Philippines; representing the underwriters in a power project financing in South America; representing bank and multilateral agency lenders in a toll road financing in the Philippines; representing the underwriters in a Rule 144A bond financing of a diesel generating station in the Philippines; and acting as municipal bond counsel in connection with various energy-related and resource recovery facilities in the United States.

A member of the New York Bar, Ms. Stein is a former chair of the Committee on Project Finance of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers. Ms. Stein holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Brooklyn Law Review, and received her A.B. degree from Barnard College and an M.A. from New York University.
