Jamila A. Piracci, an associate in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office, practices in the derivatives area. She has represented banks, investment funds and corporations, providing structuring, drafting and negotiating expertise in a variety of derivatives matters, with coverage that includes credit, equity, commodity, currency and interest rate products. In the area of structured finance, Jamila has handled credit derivatives for synthetic collateralized loan and debt obligations and interest rate and currency products for securitizations. She has extensive experience with a range of industry standard documents, including master agreements, definitional booklets, credit support documents and confirmations, as well as with customized documents for bespoke transactions. She also provides clients with technical analysis and guidance with respect to documentation, regulatory and market developments involving derivative products and has a unique background in developing templates for derivatives trading. Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2007, Jamila was an Assistant General Counsel for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, where her role included leading working groups in the creation of market-wide derivatives templates. Before Jamila began her transactional practice, she held a legal position with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
