James D. Goldsmith is a Principal and Associate General Counsel of KPMG LLP. Within the firm he acts as KPMG's Chief SEC Coordinating Counsel. He represents the firm and its personnel in investigations and inquiries conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission's Enforcement Division and in other regulatory matters. He also supervises outside counsel and other attorneys in connection with such matters and in civil litigation involving audit malpractice claims. Prior to joining KPMG in January 1993, he was a litigator with Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York, where he focused on civil litigation involving accounting fraud claims and the representation of individuals and entities in SEC accounting fraud investigations.

James received his bachelors degree, magna cum laude, in 1982 from Harvard University and his law degree, cum laude, in 1985 from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.
