J. Cullen Howe is an environmental law specialist in Arnold & Porter LLP's environmental practice group, focusing on climate change, green buildings, and state and federal environmental laws. He is the managing editor of the monthly newsletter Environmental Law in New York, and edits the Environmental Law Practice Guide, Brownfields Law and Practice, as well as Environmental Impact Review in New York.  Along with Michael Gerrard, he is the co-editor of the book The Law of Green Buildings, co-published in 2010 by the American Bar Association and the Environmental Law Institute.  He is also the administrator of Envirosphere, a blog created and managed by the Environmental Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Howe sits on the Board of Advisors for the New York City Environmental Law Leadership Institute (NYCELLI), an annual seminar for new environmental attorneys committed to leadership in the field of environmental law. Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Mr. Howe practiced for six years at two litigation boutiques in Manhattan, where he focused on commercial litigation and employment law. Mr. Howe is a graduate of Vermont Law School, where he was the managing editor of the Vermont Law Review and graduated cum laude with a JD and a Master of Studies in Environmental Law. He received his bachelor's degree from DePauw University in 1995, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
