Ira H. Raphaelson is a member of the Board of Directors of NASDAQ listed Inspired Entertainment, Inc.  He is also a solo practitioner providing compliance consulting and strategic crisis management advice.  For almost five years beginning in November 2011, he served as Executive Vice President, Global General Counsel & Secretary of Las Vegas Sands Corp (“LVS”), a NYSE listed company and the world’s leading developer of integrated resort, convention and gaming destinations.  Prior to joining LVS, Ira served for six years as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Scientific Games Corporation, a global marketing and technology leader in the lottery, pari-mutuel, and telecommunications industries, where he oversaw the legal function of the company worldwide.   As Chief Legal Officer of each company, Ira was the principal legal advisor to the compliance function.  As a senior executive, Ira also had substantial operational responsibilities at Sands and was an active participant in Sci Games’ international expansion efforts.  Prior to joining Sci Games in 2006, Ira was a partner in O’Melveny & Myers’ Washington DC office for ten years.  For three years prior to joining O’Melveny, Ira was a partner in Washington DC based Shaw Pittman.  As a private practitioner, he represented some of the world’s largest companies and a number of prominent public officials and executives.  Ira is an accomplished trial and appellate lawyer who also serves as a deal advisor on international due diligence involving billions in M&A.  Before that, Ira was a state and federal prosecutor in Chicago for 13 years where he was also U.S. Attorney for nine months.  In 1991, the first President Bush appointed and the Senate confirmed Ira to serve as Special Counsel for Financial Institutions within the Justice Department.  Ira is a nationally recognized author and lecturer on corporate governance, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and anti-money laundering laws.
