Hyung Choi is the founding partner of Choi & Fabian, PLC.  An experienced trial lawyer, Hyung Choi focuses his practice on consumer protection and personal injury matters.

Hyung Choi uses statutes such as the Consumer Fraud Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Uniform Commercial Code to challenge unfair business practices. Hyung Choi has handled hundreds of successful consumer protection cases including class action lawsuits against car dealers and finance companies. Hyung Choi took four cases against car dealerships to the jury and obtained punitive damages in each of the four cases. Hyung Choi also enjoys challenging credit reporting agencies and furnishers for inaccurate reporting. As a former engineer for General Motors, Hyung Choi is knowledgeable about automobiles which helps in lemon law and warranty cases.

Hyung Choi is also experienced in personal injury litigation. He represents victims of automobile crashes, including diminution claims. He has also successfully handled medical and dental malpractice cases.

Hyung Choi also handles interesting cases with wide societal impact. For example, Hyung Choi successfully defended a homeowner’s rights to have solar panels on roofs despite HOA rules prohibiting roof solar panels. After 5 years of litigation and trial, and against a published California decision favoring the HOA, Hyung Choi was able to obtain the nation’s first published decision favoring the homeowners and use of solar panels. Hyung Choi has also represented Native Americans and successfully challenged the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office policy of cutting inmates’ hair in violation of their religious beliefs.

As an immigrant who benefitted immensely from the opportunities and freedom to achieve presented by this Country, Hyung Choi strongly believes in protecting the rights of people and holding responsible entities accountable.
