FOLIOfn, Inc.
Chief Executive Officer
Mclean, VA, USA

Mr. Wallman is founder and CEO of FOLIOfn, Inc.  Prior to Folio, Mr. Wallman was a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 1994 to 1997, where, among other things, he played a leading role in formulating policies that brought the Internet and other technologies into wide use within the securities industry.

Folio has pioneered a number of innovations including offering, through its self-clearing broker-dealer subsidiary: strategy and themes-based, fully-customizable baskets of securities, called Folios; subscription-based, flat-fee pricing; fractional share, dollar-based investing; in-account proxy voting; and many other innovations -- all with the mission of encouraging smarter, diversified, engaged and cost-efficient investing (available at www.folioinvesting.com).

Folio’s brokerage also serves as a state-of-the art platform for advisors and introducing broker dealers (through www.folioinstitutional.com), that allows advisors and others to manage thousands of accounts with a few clicks, to create full turnkey asset-management programs, to utilize built in robo- and hybrid-robo capabilities, to service smaller accounts in the same manner as much larger accounts, and that fully integrates billing, performance reporting and other services.

Additionally, through Folio’s ViaFolio offering (www.viafolio.com), Folio offers what we believe is the only clearing firm-enabled platform for small to medium sized businesses working with other broker-dealers and investment bankers to facilitates securities offerings under the JOBS Act.

Folio also owns First Affirmative Financial Network, the country’s largest network of independent registered investment advisors focused on the social, responsible and impact investing space and The SRI Conference, the nation’s longest running conference devoted to SRI investing.

Finally, Folio also maintains the alternative trading system for secondary markets trading of the largest peer to peer lending firm, and engages in other financial technology development efforts and offerings for other financial institutions such as credit unions, banks and insurers.

Mr. Wallman also previously founded, and FOLIOfn, Inc. previously owned, PROXY Governance, Inc., a proxy advisory and voting services firm serving institutional investors and advisors, which has since been sold in part to Glass, Lewis & Co. and in part to Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. Wallman is a recognized authority on securities markets and trading, and the application of technology to financial services.  He has served on the SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee, which counsels the Commission on regulatory priorities and initiatives to protect investor interests, where he Chaired the Market Structure Subcommittee.

Before the SEC, Mr. Wallman was a partner at the law firm of Covington & Burling.  He earned a law degree from Columbia University, and holds two degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including an M.S. from the Sloan School of Management.
