Marilyn Huff is a federal judge on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Appointed in 1991, she was previously in private practice attorney in San Diego, with a practice focused on media law, personal injury, and general business litigation.

Judge Huff has gained a reputation as a thought leader in the field of intellectual property and has spoken on the topic nationally. Her notable cases include Lucent Technologies v. Microsoft, Cooper v. Brown, and Sergeant Gary A. Stein v. United Stated of America.

She served on the California Bar Association’s Fast Track Consortium and was the Chair of the Judicial Evaluations Committee. As a judge, she continued to serve on the League of Women Voters Advisory Board and on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of San Diego.
