Judge Kristin Booth Glen recently retired as Surrogate, NY County, where she had jurisdiction over guardianships of persons with intellectual disabilities under SCPA 17-A, and where she has written a series of influential decisions in that area. She previously served for a decade as Dean of CUNY School of Law, and before that as a Civil Court, Supreme Court and Appellate term judge. She has taught at NYU, Hofstra and New York Law Schools, as well as CUNY, to which she will return as a University Professor in the fall.

Judge Glen has been active in disability and aging rights, currently serving on the ABA Commission on Disability Rights, the NYSBA Committee on People with Disabilities and the NYC Bar Committee on Mental Health, the board of the  Brookdale Center on Healthy Aging, and Global Action on Aging, an NGO working at the UN toward a Convention on the Rights of Older Persons, and is a past Chair of the ABA Commission on Law and Aging. She has written and lectured widely  in these areas as well as on access to legal education and the profession, women's and prisoners' rights.

Judge Glen is the recipient of many awards including the NYSBA Ruth Schaipiro Award for Service to Women, and Columbia Law School's Lawrence Wien Prize for Social Responsibility.
