Former U.S. District Court Chief Judge James Holderman joined JAMS in June, 2015 after serving for 30 years on the federal bench in Chicago.  During his judicial career, Judge Holderman resolved more than 10,000 cases in all areas of federal jurisdiction. He conducted hundreds of successful pretrial mediation conferences and hundreds of trials.  Judge Holderman is a nationally recognized expert in the area of intellectual property, particularly patent and trademark law.  He is a member of the Federal Circuit Advisory Committee.  Judge Holderman is widely respected for his work ethic, his legal knowledge, his wealth of experience, and the practical way he approaches resolving disputes in the best interests of all concerned.  His JAMS practice focuses primarily on mediation, arbitration and neutral evaluation of intellectual property matters, as well as other federal court, complex, multi-party, and class action disputes. Since joining JAMS, he has successfully mediated and resolved multiple patent, trademark and trade secret cases, as well as multiple class actions and other cases pending in federal courts across the country.
