Lorraine Gauli-Rufo

Lorraine Gauli-Rufo is the founding partner of LGR Law, LLC. Her office specializes in criminal defense and municipal matters, with a focus on federal trial work. Ms. Gauli-Rufo entered the private sector after spending more than 18 years as an Assistant Federal Public Defender at the Federal Public Defenders, District of New Jersey, where she had extensive federal trial experience, including regularly engaging in all aspects of federal criminal litigation, from motion practice through appeals. She continues to appear regularly before the federal bench in New Jersey.

Prior to joining the FPDs, Ms. Gauli-Rufo was an associate at the Newark office of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, where she worked with the Honorable Frederick B. Lacey, former Federal District Court Judge, on many high profile civil litigation matters, including redistricting New York City, pursuant the Voting Rights Act. Ms. Gauli-Rufo graduated Summa Cum Laude from Seton Hall University Law School, and was the recipient of the Presidential Merit Scholarship to Rutgers University, where she obtained undergraduate degree. She is a member of the NJ Bar, and has been certified to apply to the NY bar for admission. She is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association (presently on the Lawyers in Transition Committee), the Association of the Federal Bar, and the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys of New Jersey, and the National Association of Women’s Lawyers.
