Senior Manager, Pro Bono Administration
San Francisco, CA, USA

Hilarie Atkisson joined Bingham McCutchen LLP in 1999 and is the Senior Manager of Pro Bono Administration for the West Coast.  Hilarie links the firm’s West Coast attorneys with meaningful and challenging pro bono opportunities.  Benefiting from the insights she gained from her own work with public interest organizations in the San Francisco area, Hilarie aims both to expand the provision of legal services to the underserved and to provide attorneys with unique opportunities to hone their practical legal skills.  Hilarie is also spearheading the firm’s efforts to support The SMART Program, a private organization committed to maximizing educational opportunities for highly motivated, financially disadvantaged students in San Francisco public schools.

In recognition of her work to provide outstanding representation to the poor and under-represented in the community, Hilarie was named the 2011 recipient of The Keta Taylor Colby Award by The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Hilarie is involved in many community organizations and is a member of the Leadership Counsel for The Justice and Diversity Center of the San Francisco Bar Association and a Member of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area.  A California native, Hilarie received her J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of Law in 1997 and her B.A. from Mills College in 1994.  She lives in Alameda with her husband, three children and a blue-tongued skink.
