A counsel in the Litigation Department, Harris Fischman is a former federal prosecutor and experienced trial and appellate lawyer. He focuses his practice on white collar matters, internal investigations, regulatory enforcement proceedings, and complex business litigation.

Harris previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where he was Chief of the Violent and Organized Crime Unit and Deputy Chief of the Narcotics Unit. During his six years as a federal prosecutor, he led the investigation and prosecution of a wide range of federal crimes, including financial fraud, money laundering, public corruption, asset forfeiture, racketeering, narcotics trafficking, and murder. Harris conducted 12 criminal trials, supervised more than 30 criminal trials, and argued eight appeals in the Second Circuit.

Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Harris worked at another prestigious law firm in New York City where he focused on complex business litigation and internal investigations. After law school, Harris was a law clerk at the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia where he worked on the prosecution of Slobodan Milosevic, the former president of Yugoslavia, for attempted genocide and other war crimes.

Harris has lectured at several of the top law schools in the country on various issues related to federal criminal law. In 2014 and 2015, Harris taught a seminar on federal prosecution at NYU School of Law.
