Gil Allison

Right Management
Vice President, Career Management
New York, NY, USA

Gil has in-depth career consulting expertise in working with lawyers at all levels, from major law firms and corporations. His experience includes consulting with both individuals who have chosen to remain practicing law and those who have decided to leave the law, leveraging their legal experience and skills. In addition to assisting lawyers in managing a successful job search, he has a growing practice in working with individuals needing to develop longer-term career management strategies.

His career consulting and coaching experience started in 1981 with John Crystal, a pioneer career counselor and continued at J. J. Gallagher Associates, which became King Chapman Broussard & Gallagher, where he built the Professional Service Firm practice. For the last decade prior to bringing his niche legal practice to Right Management, Gil has led the legal career transition practice at the Empower Group’s New York office. He brings strong brand recognition and expertise in his work with lawyers and is known as a leader in this field. His passion for playing tennis has led to the opportunity to counsel world-class tennis players on how to leave the men's professional tour and start a second career. He received an MBA in Organizational Behavior as well as a BS in Economics from Penn State. Gil is a Fellow of the International Board for Career Management Certification.
