George Sawyer

George Sawyer is a Client Engagement manager for Evalueserve and has been with the firm for about six years. He was hired to help develop the intellectual property practice at Evalueserve having been the Vice President of Business Development, Western Region, for the intellectual property consulting firm Global Prior Art.

Prior to working in the field of intellectual property, George's background includes over twenty years in the computer industry. Trained as an engineer at MIT, he worked for such firms as Novadigm, Programart, Concurrent Computer, Eastman Kodak, and Computervision.  He is familiar with the challenges of international business and internationalization as he has lived and worked in Japan as head of R&D for Computervision Japan Ltd., and held two positions in which he was responsible for the firm's operations in Asia/Pacific.

George holds a third degree black belt from the All-Japan Jodo Association (Zen-Nihon Jodo Renmei) and was one of the five founding members of the MIT Blackjack team whose (fictionalized) exploits were featured in the book "Bringing Down the House" and the Hollywood movie production "21."

George is currently the chairman of the San Francisco chapter of the Licensing Executives Society (LES).
