George C. Reid, Esq.

George C. Reid of The Reid Firm, LLC has focused his practice on the litigation, arbitration and mediation of complex construction disputes for more than thirty years.  His experience has encompassed a wide variety of commercial projects including schools, high rise office structures, hospitals, hotels, shopping centers, industrial buildings, and hydroelectric plants.  Mr. Reid has served as an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Construction Arbitrators for more than twenty years, and has served as a mediator of construction, real estate, environmental, and other complex commercial disputes for more than fifteen years.  He has mediated hundreds of cases for attorneys and parties throughout the Southeastern United States. Additionally, Mr. Reid has lectured extensively on the subject of construction contracts and claims, and on the resolution of construction disputes by arbitration and mediation, for a variety of institutions and organizations including George Washington University, Ohio State University, The University of Georgia, The University of Tulsa, The University of Alaska, the United States Postal Service, the Washington Post, Merck Pharmaceutical Company, Dillingham Construction Company, the National Association of Construction Owners, and, Consolidated Edison Corporation.

Mr. Reid holds a B.A. from the University of Georgia.  He earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Mercer University Law School where he was a member of the Brainerd Currie Honor Society and the National Moot Court Team. He also served as Executive Editor of the Mercer Law Review. He is the former Chairman of the Georgia State Ethics Commission.
