Dr. Galina Zukova is Counsel at Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, where she is in charge of the case management team that handles matters involving parties from Central and Eastern Europe, CIS countries, Greece and Turkey. She is also an Associate Professor at the Riga Graduate School of Law (Latvia).

Prior to the joining ICC, Dr. Zukova worked for the Latvian European Integration Bureau, the European Court of Justice, the Court of Arbitration at the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pan-Baltic law firm Raidla, Lejins & Norcous/Roschier, and WilmerHale as Scholar-in-Residence.

After graduating with an LLB in Latvia, Dr. Zukova obtained an LLM from Exeter University (UK) and a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence (Italy). She has also been a Visiting Scholar at Yale University. In addition to her native languages Russian and Latvian, Dr. Zukova speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish, and has a good knowledge of German.

Dr. Zukova is a frequent speaker and lecturer on international trade and arbitration. In particular, she teaches international commercial arbitration on the International Economic Law and Policy (IELPO) programme at the University of Barcelona (Spain), as well as WTO law at the Institute of Political Science in Paris (France). She is also the author of several publications on these subjects.
