Frank Vondrak

U.S. Department of Justice
Assistant Chief, Chicago Field Office
Chicago, IL, USA

Frank Vondrak joined the Chicago office of the United States Department of Justice's Antitrust Division as a trial attorney in 1989. He was appointed assistant chief of that office in 2000. He has led a number of successful Sherman Act criminal investigations and prosecutions, including the Indianapolis ready mixed concrete case.  That prosecution resulted in a number of corporate and individual guilty pleas and convictions after trial.  Notably, one company which pled guilty in that case agreed to pay a criminal fine of over $29 million, which is the largest criminal fine any company has paid in a domestic price fixing case to date. In 2007, he was presented with the Attorney General's Distinguished Service Award.
