Francesca Boschini is the Director and Head of US and International Wealth Planning. Based in New York, she leads a team of wealth planning and fiduciary specialists located across the Americas. Francesca provides technical assistance to RBC’s trust and wealth management offices around the world, particularly in relation to wealth planning for US and international clients. She works alongside senior fiduciary professionals and private client advisors to develop and implement effective and compliant solutions for the complex global taxation, estate planning and wealth preservation needs of international high net worth individuals.

Born in Italy, Francesca attended the University of Bologna School of Law, where she studied law with specific focus on international and comparative law. Francesca graduated with a civil law degree, graduating among the youngest in her class, and was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) in 1997. The same year she joined RBC and was tasked with building an in-house centre of expertise for fiduciary professionals seeking advice and guidance on civil law planning issues. The combination of legal training in both civil and common law legal systems and a strong US and international orientation makes Francesca a valuable resource for RBC when undertaking planning for corporate and private clients in North America, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. Francesca serves as a Director on the Board of Directors of RBC’s Delaware Trust Company, and is a member of two RBC’s core trust management and oversight committees, namely the Global Trust Advisory Board and the Caribbean and US Trust Advisory Board.

Francesca attended the Graduate Program at the University of Miami School of Law as the 2000 honors recipient of the Garcia-Amador Scholarship. In 2001, she received her Master of Laws degree (LL.M.), specializing in Taxation and Estate Planning, and the Certification in International Taxation. She has also earned the “Trust and Estate Practitioner” designation (TEP) from the Society of Trust and Estate
Practitioners.

In recognition of her professional efforts and achievements, Francesca was a recipient of the RBC 2000 and 2003 “Award of Excellence”, as well as the 2003 RBC “Leo Award” (the most prestigious professional recognition offered by Royal Bank of Canada). For her contribution to the growth and success of the business, Francesca was also recognized as a member of the 2006, 2008 and 2009 RBC Wealth Management Executive Council and of the 2007 RBC Wealth Management Chairman’s Council. Francesca is a frequent speaker at international trust and estate planning conferences and has authored several articles that have been published in leading professional journals.
