            Ethan M. M. Cohen is a Senior Trial Attorney with the Chicago District Office of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission where he has worked since 1997.  While at the EEOC, he has litigated sex, race, national origin and disability harassment cases, as well as race, sex, pregnancy, national origin, religion, age and disability discrimination cases dealing with hiring, termination and accommodation.  He was a member of the litigation team in the sex harassment class cases brought against Mitsubishi, Dial, and IPA.  He was a lead litigator in the class ADA cases brought against Sears and SuperValu/Jewel., and was a lead litigator in the class race cases brought against Carl Buddig, Roadway Express, and Yellow Freight.  Each of these ended with multi-million dollar resolutions.  He is a committee member of the Seventh Circuit Electronic Discovery Pilot Program, serving on the early case assessment subcommittee.

            Prior to the EEOC, Mr. Cohen was an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the City of Chicago practicing in labor and employment law and personal injury defense. 

            Mr. Cohen attended Northwestern University Law School where he graduated cum laude.  He also received a Masters Degree in history from Northwestern and received his B.A. from Grinnell College.  Mr. Cohen has been practicing since 1991.

            In addition to his work with the EEOC, Mr. Cohen serves as an instructor of Trial Advocacy at John Marshall Law School in Chicago and Administrative Law at Dominican University in River Forest, IL.
