Erik Stallman

Erik Stallman is the former General Counsel and Director of the Open Internet Project at the Center for Democracy & Technology. He focuses primarily on broadband and digital copyright policy. He also works on issues related to security research and vulnerability disclosure. Prior to joining CDT, Erik was an associate in the Telecommunications, Internet & Media practice at Steptoe & Johnson LLP. Before entering private practice, he served as counsel and policy advisor to U.S. Representative Zoe Lofgren and then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He also worked in the Federal Communications Commission’s Media Bureau and clerked for the Honorable Susan P. Graber of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
