Ned Weant is the Director of the Office of Antiboycott Compliance at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Mr. Weant joined the Department of Commerce in 1991 as a compliance officer with the Office of Antiboycott Compliance. In managing the Office of Antiboycott Compliance,he oversees BIS's enforcement of the antiboycott provisions of the EAR, outreach to the exporting community, monitoring of boycott activity, and formulation of the antiboycott policy. Currently, Mr. Weant is the longest serving member of BIS's Administrative Case Review Board.

Mr. Weant has led delegations from the Departments of State and Commerce to boycotting countries to negotiate an end to host countries' boycott practice. He has written articles on various antiboycott issues for a variety of publications. He also has been a frequent speaker at government and industry conferences.

Mr. Weant was bom in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Western Maryland College and the University of Baltimore School of Law. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar International Trade Section.
