Overview

Over the past several months, the United States has been hit by many natural disasters leaving state and local communities devastated.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is the federal agency that manages the nation’s disaster relief efforts, has subsequently provided federal funds to both individuals and local and state governments to help aid their relief efforts.  As FEMA and other government agencies commit federal funds to these impacted areas, possible contractors should understand how they can be awarded funds and the key considerations accompanied with being a recipient, subrecipient or contractor under one of these public assistance vehicles.

Please join Richard J. Meene, Director, PwC Forensic Services and Kristin Szkrybalo, Manager, PwC Forensic Services  for a discussion that will:

  • describe funding vehicles and how to identify possible opportunities
  • consider key accounting and compliance considerations
  • address impacts of non-compliance and fraud in emergency spending
