Diego Ibarguen is counsel in The Hearst Corporation Office of General Counsel, specializing in First Amendment and Media Law issues, with particular focus on public access to government records and courts, source protection, newsgathering, pre-publication review, and defamation defense.  Prior to joining Hearst, Diego was an associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel, where he worked on a wide variety of First Amendment and securities law matters.  Before entering the law, Diego worked as a City Desk Newsman for The Associated Press in New York City, and as a White House Correspondent for Knight Ridder Newspapers.  He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and Yale Law School, and a former clerk for The Hon. Anthony J. Scirica of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
