Deyanira Del Rio is Associate Director of NEDAP, an advocacy center that works with community groups in NYC to promote economic justice, and to eliminate discriminatory economic practices that harm communities and perpetuate inequality and poverty. Deyanira has led coalitions and campaigns to expand fair lending and banking access in low income and immigrant communities, through policy advocacy, community education and training, participatory action research, and expansion of community development financial institutions. As board chair of the Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union and vice-chair of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions, she works to strengthen financial cooperatives that mobilize savings and investment in low income neighborhoods and communities of color.  Deyanira also serves on the board of directors of New Immigrant Community Empowerment, a worker center in Jackson Heights, Queens.

Deyanira has received the Revson Fellowship on the Future of the City of New York; Coro Immigrant Civic Leadership Program fellowship; and the Mujeres Destacadas (Outstanding Women) award from El Diario/La Prensa. She is a Closing the Racial Wealth Gap Thought Leader Fellow with the Insight Center for Community Economic Development.
