Denise Acron is a Staff Attorney at Manhattan Legal Services where she practices in the Public Benefits Unit.  In this role, she represents low income clients and litigates cases dealing with welfare, food stamps, and Medicaid.  Ms. Acron is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law.  While there, she participated in the Innocence and Justice Clinic where she represented wrongly convicted people, worked on asylum cases in Nigeria, West Africa, and served as an editor of the Southern Region Black Law Students Association Law Journal.  She currently serves as a member of the Social Welfare Law Committee and Public Service Committee of the New York City Bar Association.  She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey as well as the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.  Ms. Acron grew up in San Diego, California, and received her B.A. from Columbia University, where she majored in African American Studies.
