David M. Greenwald

David Greenwald is a partner with Jenner & Block LLP. Mr. Greenwald is an accomplished trial lawyer with over 25 years of commercial litigation, arbitration and jury trial experience. Mr. Greenwald concentrates on business litigation with particular emphasis on reinsurance arbitrations and litigation, structured finance litigation, domestic and international arbitrations, bankruptcy litigation, internal investigations and government contracts litigation. 

Mr. Greenwald's recent experience includes acting as lead trial counsel for holders of more than $1 billion of Residential Mortgage Backed Securities in In re Rehabilitation of: Segregated Account of Ambac Assurance Corp. 

Mr. Greenwald is co-author of the comprehensive treatise Testimonial Privileges, ThomsonWest, 4th ed., 2011; Editor of "Protecting Confidential Legal Information: A Handbook for Analyzing Issues Under the Attorney-Client Privilege and Work Product Doctrine," Jenner & Block LLP, 2011; and Editor of Jenner & Block's Attorney-Client Privilege Update online resource center. Mr. Greenwald frequently speaks on topics relating to the attorney-client privilege, work product doctrine and other testimonial privileges; e-discovery and related ethics issues; and insurance and reinsurance topics, including issues relating to the London insurance market and cross-border disputes.

Mr. Greenwald graduated cum laude from Georgetown University in 1983, and he obtained his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 1986. Mr. Greenwald is a member of the Illinois bar, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, including Trial Bar, the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.
