David is the Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Hyatt Hotels Corporation and has been with Hyatt since 2006.  David lead’s Hyatt’s legal compliance group within the Legal Department and focuses on the company’s compliance with SEC regulations, the FCPA, licensing, corporate ethics, corporate data and other areas.   David was the lead internal counsel for Hyatt as it prepared for its IPO in 2009.   David is also the company’s Chief Privacy Officer and ERISA/ insurance counsel.   Prior to joining Hyatt, David was the Associate Counsel for First Health Group Corp. for eight years including participation in the sale of the company to Coventry Health Care in 2004 and management of the First Health Legal Department for 18 months after the sale.  David was the Chairman of First Health’s HIPAA compliance committee and counseled the company on all aspects of compliance and ethics.  Prior to his time with First Health, David was legal counsel for several life and health insurance companies and represented the companies’ interests with multiple state insurance departments and federal regulatory agencies.      

David has a J.D. from Chicago –Kent College of Law, IIT and a B.A. from Kansas State University with dual majors in Biology and English Literature.  David holds several insurance industry designations and is active within his community.
