Work History:

In May of 2014, after almost 20 years in large law firms, David left a position as an equity partner overseeing the Technology Transfer and Licensing Group for a large  Boston law firm to establish Boston Technology Law, PLLC. BostonTechLaw is a boutique law firm providing big-firm expertise in technology licensing and related matters but with a cost structure that allows rates appropriate for day to day licensing services.  By working closely with clients on their more mundane transactions, BostonTechLaw learns the clients’ business and becomes better and more efficient advisors when their most complex transactions arise.

David has been an equity partner at Choate, Hall and Stewart.  He was an associate in the Intellectual Property Group at Testa, Hurwitz in Boston, MA, and in the Venture Capital and Emerging Company Group of Edwards and Angell in Providence, RI.  Before making the move into law firm life, David negotiated commercial outsourcing agreements for Computer Sciences Corporation in Norwich, CT, and oversaw the government contracting function for PSI International, Inc. in Fairfax, VA.

Professional Memberships:

David is the former co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Computer & Internet Law Committee and he served on “Committee D” in the drafting of the GPL v.3. David is on the Alumni Council for Cornell University.

David is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
