David Barr is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. His responsibilities include consultations on accounting related matters from registrants, the Division of Corporation Finance and the Division of Enforcement and various activities with respect to the SEC’s oversight role over the FASB.

Prior to joining the SEC in June 2012, Mr. Barr worked at KPMG LLP’s National Office in New York, where he consulted on technical accounting, auditing and SEC reporting matters. Mr. Barr graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration Degree. He is a Certified Public Accountant in New York, Maryland, Arizona and Washington D.C.
