Dana Isaac is the Thurgood Marshall Fellow with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. Her work focuses on advancing racial equity in the criminal justice system through the Second Chance Legal Clinic, which provides free legal services to people with past arrests and convictions to help them overcome the barriers to successful community reintegration. Dana’s civil rights work also includes leading Lawyers’ Committee’s election protection campaign, and advocating for educational equity for schoolchildren of color. Dana is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law, and prior to joining the Lawyers’ Committee she worked on appealing juvenile life without parole sentences under grants from the US Human Rights Fund and the Ford Foundation.
