Craig is a partner in our corporate/M&A practice, with significant experience in advising multinational corporates and financial sponsors across a range of transactions. On the corporate M&A side, Craig has recently been advising on Cheung Kong Holding’s reorganisation, merger and spin-off with Hutchison Whampoa, as well as Hutchison Whampoa’s US$5bn strategic sale of a 25% stake in its retail arm, AS Watson, to Temasek Holdings. Craig also advised HK listed MMG (a subsidiary of China Minmetals) on its US$6.5bn takeover bid for Canadian and ASX listed Equinox Minerals, and on its US$1.4bn takeover of Canadian and ASX listed Anvil Mining Limited. In the retail and leisure sectors, Craig has also advised Jardine Matheson, Genting Hong Kong and Caesars Entertainment Corporation across a series of cross border M&A and takeover transactions in the region.

Craig’s recent listing and securities offering experience includes advising on Glencore’s US$60bn dual UK/HK listing, AIA Group’s US$23bn Hong Kong listing, Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings’ reorganisation and listing by way of introduction on the SEHK; Eldorado Gold Corporation’s US$1.9bn acquisition of Sino Gold Mining Limited (then dual listed on the ASX and HKSE); HSBC’s GBP12.5bn rights issue and Standard Chartered’s GBP1.8bn rights issue; and advising Och-Ziff on its investment in CITIC Limited.
