Coty Montag is a deputy chief for the Housing and Civil Enforcement Section’s fair lending unit, which was established by the Attorney General in 2010.  While at the Department of Justice, Ms. Montag has investigated and resolved numerous fair lending matters, including United States v. Ally Financial Inc. and Ally Bank (E.D. Mich. 2013), the government’s largest ever auto discrimination suit, and United States v. Wells Fargo Bank, NA (D.D.C. 2012), a major fair lending investigation resulting in a $234.3 million settlement.  Ms. Montag is a graduate of the University of Florida and the Georgetown University Law Center.  Prior to joining the Department of Justice, she worked at law firms located in Washington, DC and San Diego, California.
