In practice at the Irish Bar since 1988 and became a Senior Counsel in 2005.  Also a member of the Bar of England and Wales practising from Kings Chambers in Manchester.

Vice Chairman of the Bar Council of Ireland and President of Arbitration Ireland – the Irish Arbitration Association.

Experienced advocate in commercial disputes and experienced arbitrator in domestic and international arbitration (LCIA and ICDR).

Designated by the Irish Government to the Panel of Conciliators and Arbitrators of ICSID (the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes).

Areas of practice include: company, shareholder and partnership disputes, maritime, competition, insurance law, construction, environmental, general contract.

Chartered Arbitrator (CIArb.) and Accredited Mediator (CEDR).

President of the Irish Maritime Law Association from 2007 to 2010 and a titular member of the Comité Maritime International (CMI).
