Colleen Hankins

Colleen Hankins is vice president and associate general counsel for Fidelity Investments, one of the world’s largest providers of financial services, with assets under administration of $4.5 trillion, including managed assets of $1.9 trillion, as of January 31, 2014.   Ms. Hankins leads the team that defends the firm in a variety of litigation and arbitration claims brought by retail customers and retirement plan participants.  Ms. Hankins also represents the firm in regulatory inquiries and investigations.  In addition, she provides legal advice on issues related to new products and services and participates on committees and working groups organized to evaluate proposed business initiatives or re-examine existing policies or procedures.

Prior to joining Fidelity in 2000, Ms. Hankins was in private practice with the law firm of Bingham McCutchen, where she represented clients in a broad array of securities litigation matters.

Ms. Hankins is an active member of the ABA’s SRO Sub-Committee.  She is also a member of the Boston Bar Association and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

Ms. Hankins received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from the University of Rochester in 1994 and her Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School, Magna Cum Laude, in 1998.
