Claude B Stansbury is a partner in the Washington office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer US LLP. Claude's practice includes advising multinational companies and private equity funds on cross-border acquisitions, financings, restructurings, and disposals, and advising on structured finance transactions, products and derivatives. Claude's practice also includes complex tax controversy matters and tax aspects of international investment arbitration disputes.

Claude is a graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was admitted to California and District of Columbia bars as well as to the United States Tax Court, the Court of Federal Claims and the United States Supreme Court. 

Claude has been adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, chaired the Corporate Tax Committee of the American Bar Association's Task Force on Section 304 and is a member of the International Tax and Finance Forum. He has been listed as a leading individual for tax in Chambers & Partners legal directory, Chambers USA, and in The Legal 500 US.
