Christopher Stavrakos, CFA, is a Senior Financial Analyst in the Investment Management Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  Prior to joining the Commission, Chris was at BlackRock, where he was Head of Investment Strategy and Risk Management of the Cash Management Group.  As Managing Director, and part of the Cash Management Group’s Executive Committee, Chris oversaw formulation and implementation of investment and risk management strategies of all Cash Management products, including money market funds, short-term customized portfolios, offshore and non-dollar liquidity funds and securities lending reinvestment activities.  Prior to joining BlackRock in 2006, Chris was Senior Vice President, CIO, and Director of Liability Management for the Securities Lending Group at Mellon Bank, where he was responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of asset and liability management strategies and policies. From 1995 to 1999, Chris was a Managing Director with the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi. Before joining Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Chris served more than 10 years with Bankers Trust. He began his career at the Prudential Insurance Company, where he managed money market and private placement portfolios. Chris is a member of the CFA Institute, and a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia.  Chris earned a BS degree, with distinction, in applied economics in 1981 and an MBA degree in finance and accounting in 1982, both from Cornell University.
