Work History:

Chris Bream is the Director of Information Security Policy and Risk at Facebook. He has 11 years of IT experience with the previous nine focused on information security. At Facebook, he is responsible for managing security policy and identifying information security risks across the enterprise.

Prior to working at Facebook, Chris was a Director at Mandiant. While there, he was responsible for coordinating activities for Mandiant’s managed services clients, helping support the evolution of managed services and acting as a liaison to clients of Mandiant’s Managed Defense®. After his time with Managed Defense®, Chris joined Mandiant’s professional services arm, acting as engagement lead on multiple incident response, Threat Assessment, and proactive engagements, including running the largest investigation in Mandiant’s history. He also operates Mandiant’s Intelligent Response® (MIR) product to identify indicators of compromise in client networks. He currently leads Mandiant’s Professional Services team in San Francisco.

Mr. Bream’s work has exposed him to attacks at a variety of customers across multiple industries including the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), Manufacturing, Energy, Technology, Financial Sector, and Media/Entertainment. He has lead incident response and forensic services for multiple Fortune 500 companies and some of the largest privately-held companies in the world. He has worked closely with organizations to monitor their networks on an ongoing basis, provide intelligence on compromises, identify new compromises, and support incident response activities from advanced threats.

Prior to joining Mandiant, Mr. Bream was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). While at PwC, Mr. Bream led information security activities at multiple US federal government clients. Mr. Bream led information security assessments against federal frameworks and regulations for multiple Federal agencies, both on behalf of the Office of Inspector General and Agency leadership. Mr. Bream also led information security strategic planning projects for both federal agencies and NGOs. In addition, Mr. Bream was responsible for developing information security methodologies and developing information security skills for PwC’s Federal Practice.
