Christine M. Castellano is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer for Ingredion Incorporated, a $6.5 billion NYSE listed company.   In this capacity, Christine is responsible for the worldwide management of the company’s legal affairs.   Christine provides advice and counsel to the company’s Board of Directors, officers and management, and directs activities of internal and outside legal counsel around the world.   A former litigator, Christine has been involved with numerous litigation matters, including a NAFTA Chapter 11 dispute with Mexico, and complex environmental matters in jurisdictions around the world.  

Christine joined the Corn Products Division of CPC International, Inc. (a predecessor company of Ingredion Incorporated) in 1996 as Attorney, and has held positions of increasing responsibility, including Counsel, US and Canada and Associate General International Counsel.   Most recently, she held the position Vice President, International Law and Deputy General Counsel.   Prior to joining Corn Products International, Christine was an income partner in the litigation department of the law firm McDermott, Will & Emery in Chicago, with emphasis on construction, labor and employment and general commercial litigation. 

She is active in the ABA International Law Section, and is Communications Officer of that Section, and formerly Division Chair of the Americas and Middle East Division of the Section.   She is also a member of the Section’s Council, and a member of the Publications Committee.   In April, 2011, she received the International Law Section’s inaugural Outstanding Corporate Counsel Award  in recognition of her significant contribution to the legal profession and the furtherance of the practice of law in the an international context.    She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, The Conference Board Council of Chief Legal Officers and the North Shore General Counsel Association.

Christine is a member of the Womens’ Board of the Chicago Zoological Society.  She also serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the Metro Chicago American Heart Association Heart Walk, and as Executive Sponsor for the Ingredion team.   She is also a member of the planning committees for the ADL Women of Achievement Awards Dinner and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum Butterfly Ball.   Lastly, she is a member of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Access to Justice Corporate Counsel Advisory Committee.

Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan School of Law.  She was admitted to the Colorado bar in 1990 and the Illinois bar in 1991.
