Cheryl Fackler Hug is Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Compliance for Hewlett-Packard, Inc. ("HP"), where she is responsible for Legal and Regulatory compliance matters including HP's leading practice of Compliance Wellness Assessments. In addition, Cheryl's team has substantive legal accountability for anticorruption, global trade, public sector and privacy issues. Cheryl joined HP in April 2010.

Prior to HP, Cheryl was the Chief Integrity and Compliance Officer and Chief Privacy Officer for Sun Microsystems, Inc. ("Sun") from 2007-2010, where she had overall responsibility for compliance, privacy and ethics issues, as well as substantive legal accountability for anticorruption, competition, data privacy, and global trade matters.  

Prior to Sun, Cheryl was the VP Worldwide Licensing for Business Objects, a business intelligence software company (acquired by SAP in 2008). In that role, Cheryl led the team that handle all out-bound sales legal issues, export compliance, e-commerce, services and the creation of new licensing and other business models.

Cheryl also worked for Sun from 1994-2006, where she held a wide variety of leadership roles supporting Sun's sales functions including Senior Legal Director for Worldwide Distribution and Delivery and European General Counsel (working from Geneva, Switzerland).  Cheryl began her legal career at Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher in Washington, D.C. where she specialized in joint ventures, corporate compliance, corporate and international transactions.

Cheryl graduated from the University of Michigan Law School with honors and completed her undergraduate degree at Wittenberg University.

Cheryl is passionate about providing professional, practical and collaborative support to assist her clients in solving their business issues in a legal and ethical manner.
