Charles S. Marion is a partner with Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Philadelphia office. He is a commercial litigator and focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, products liability, franchise litigation and insurance coverage disputes.

Mr. Marion represents and advises individuals, businesses and insurance companies in complex commercial, financial and coverage disputes relating to a variety of transactions and claims. He also defends domestic and international manufacturers in product liability lawsuits brought throughout the United States. He has extensive trial experience (jury and non-jury) in state and federal court, and also represents clients in mediations, arbitrations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

His intellectual property practice focuses on advising and representing creators and users of intellectual property in a variety of industries and enterprises, including software developers, digital versatile disk (DVD) encryptors and pharmaceutical manufacturers, with respect to trademark, copyright, trade secret, patent infringement and e-commerce issues.

His insurance coverage practice focuses on advising and representing insurance companies in complex coverage disputes and bad faith and other litigation. He has represented domestic and international carriers in a variety of litigation in federal and state trial and appellate courts.

Mr. Marion is an active member of several legal and community organizations. With the Philadelphia Bar Association, he is immediate past chair of the Federal Courts Committee; regularly leads investigative teams for the Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention; served on a special task force studying the economic impact of lawyers on the City of Philadelphia; and has served as an elected member of the executive committee of the Young Lawyers’ Division. Mr. Marion is an inaugural member of the American Bar Association Advisory Panel and, as such, is periodically asked to provide opinions about the direction of the ABA and issues facing the legal profession for another eight-year term.

Mr. Marion is a fellow of the Academy of Advocacy of Temple University. He is a member of the board of directors and is president of the Delaware Valley Habitat for Humanity. He also serves on the board of the Foundation of the Rotary Club of Chestnut Hill and is the founder and president of the 2T Group, a business networking group in Philadelphia.

Mr. Marion is a member of the Pennsylvania and Florida bars, and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the Southern District of Florida and the Eastern District of Wisconsin, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
