Cecil Mak is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. His responsibilities include consultations on audit related matters, the study and development of rule proposals under federal securities laws, and various activities with respect to the SEC’s oversight role over the PCAOB.

Prior to joining the SEC in August 2011, Mr. Mak worked at KPMG LLP’s National Office in New York, where he was focused on technical accounting, auditing and SEC reporting matters. Mr. Mak earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of British Columbia. He is a Chartered Accountant in British Columbia, Canada and a Certified Public Accountant in New York and California.
