Brooke Fritz is Counsel of IBM Corporation’s Global Technology Services. Previously, she was a Senior Counsel and Vice President in the General Counsel’s Office of American Express and a member of its Technology Law Group. Ms. Fritz’s primary areas of practice were information technology and outsourcing transactions, software licensing and development agreements, Internet law, data security, technology policy, and telecommunications. She served as a Co-Chair of American Express’s Pro Bono Committee from 2007 to 2010. Prior to joining American Express in 2005, Ms. Fritz was an Associate in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and the Washington, D.C. and New York offices of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP (formerly Shaw Pittman LLP). Ms. Fritz has represented financial institutions, multinational corporations, and consulting firms in information technology and business process outsourcing transactions, including offshore outsourcing transactions. Ms. Fritz has assisted in drafting and negotiating agreements governing data processing, voice and data networking, hardware procurement, applications development and maintenance, problem management, and help desk support. Ms. Fritz received a B.A., cum laude, and an M.A. from Northwestern University and a J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she won the Marden Moot Court Competition. She is admitted to practice in New York and Washington, D.C. Among her many volunteer activities, Ms. Fritz serves on the Board of Directors of Manhattan Legal Services, a nonprofit organization which provides free legal assistance in civil cases to low-income residents.
