Brad Melius is Vice President and Corporate Counsel in Prudential Retirement Law, based in Hartford, Connecticut.  He advises Prudential Retirement, which offers defined contribution, defined benefit and nonqualified plan recordkeeping and investments, as well as directed trustee services.  Since early 2015, he has also been advising Gibraltar Ventures, a Prudential subsidiary that makes strategic venture capital investments and incubates ideas to address savings, investment and insurance issues.

Brad has over 20 years experience advising on issues affecting qualified and nonqualified retirement plans.  He joined Prudential in 2004, and previously worked in the law departments of CIGNA Corporation and MassMutual.  Since 2006, Brad has been Adjunct Professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he teaches Employee Benefits Law.  

Brad graduated with honors in Politics from Fairfield University, where he was a member of the Jesuit Honor Society.   He earned his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University School of Law, and was Book Review Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law
