Bernard Roelvink specialises in corporate law and, in particular, mergers and acquisitions. He has advised on numerous Dutch and cross-border public takeovers, privatisations and divestments and has recently acted as counsel in a number of contested public takeovers in the Netherlands. His practice includes corporate litigation and acting as a regular outside counsel to Dutch public, state owned and private companies, advising them on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance matters, shareholders' issues and corporate governance.

Bernard is a lecturer at the Board Academy, Grotius Academie and other institutions. He regularly speaks at international and national conferences on takeovers and lectures on public offers in the Netherlands.

In the period 1992 - 1998, Bernard was an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London and resident partner of De Brauw's office in Prague.

Bernard served on De Brauw's managing committee as practice head for the corporate and finance practices from 2000 to 2005.
