Basil Zirinis has been a partner inS&C’s Estates & Personal Group since 1994 and leads its internationalprivate client practice from London and New York.  He represents individuals, fiduciaries andfamily-controlled businesses throughout the world in a broad range of matters,including domestic and international estate and trust planning, family businessgovernance and transition, and estate and trust litigation. He speaks regularlyat international conferences regarding U.S. and international tax and estateplanning.

He also has extensiveexperience in trust  andestate litigation andhas been involved in many of the leadinglitigations in this area in the last 25 years in the United States and abroad. Recently, for example, Mr. Zirinis and S&C have been counsel in the highly publicizedlitigation involving Chicago’s Pritzker family in the United States and the Bahamas, the America’s Cup trust litigation in New York and a multi-billion dollar trust litigation inEurope and the Caribbean.

Mr. Zirinis was listed as “Best of the Best” in therecently released Legal Media Group ExpertGuides’ “Best of the Best USA 2012.” He was named as a leading Trusts andEstates lawyer in The Best Lawyers inAmerica (2007-2013), Chambers USA:America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2010-2013) and Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business(2010-2013). Mr. Zirinis has also been recognized for Estate Planning &Probate in New York Super Lawyers (2006-2012), and in 2012, was featured in Legal Week’s inaugural edition ofInternational Trusts and Private Client elite as a top U.S. lawyer in the field.

Mr. Zirinisis a member of The InternationalAcademy of Estate and TrustLaw and of The Society of Trust  and Estate Practitioners.  He has been a trustee of the Leeds Castle Foundation and a member of the board of trustees of the American Foundation for the Blind.
