With over fifty years of experience, Barry Nekritz is widely recognized for his extensive subject matter expertise in real estate law.  A vast majority of Barry’s current time is spent on acquisitions, dispositions and new development of large real estate projects.  He has represented clients in the purchase, sale, complex financing and construction of a myriad of real estate projects, including shopping centers, industrial, office, multi-family residential and other properties.  Barry is skilled at representing sellers and buyers in large portfolio transactions and has extensive experience representing condominium developers and homeowners associations.

Barry continues to share his knowledge as an active member on a number of committees and commissions to advance the practice of real estate law in the United States and has authored numerous publications.  He is past Chair of the Leasing Group of the American Bar Association’s Real Property Section and has served as an Advisor on behalf of the American Bar Association to the Uniform Law Commission in drafting numerous uniform laws.  He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Uniform Law Commission’s Joint Editorial Board for Real Property.  He is an active member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.

Barry earned his law and undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois and is a member of both the Illinois and Florida Bar Associations.
